The Yellow Brick Road
The Yellow Brick Road began years ago in the dreams of a little girl. Owner/Operator Anna Scudder.
The fascination with antiques began while growing up in Long Island N.Y., where my father owned a barber shop
which he would bring me to help out running the register and sweeping up, but right next door was a wonderfully dusty old
Antique shop that I couldn't keep away from. Instead of helping Dad much I would sneak over there ever chance I could and watch the
owner work his magic with those old relics. He would restore those old pieces and return them to their original beauty and I
was hooked. I learned there was much value in all those older things that nobody wanted back then.
Through the years I dabbled and collected Antiques but chose nursing as a career knowing some day I would go back to retail and relics.
The Yellow Brick Road opened in November 2005 and we wanted the shop to evoke childhood memories and give our customers a place to ponder
a simpler time thus the name The Yellow Brick Road.
The Yellow Brick Road is family owned but could not have been possible without the help of extended family, friends and neighbors,
all of whom helped our dreams come true.
Our shop features everything from fine antiques to all style of home and garden decor. You can
purchase vintage baby items as well as wedding gowns and accessories. We carry vintage clothing and hats, antique tools, primitive items,
handcrafted jewelry, gold and silver as well as vintage jewelry.
We currently have over 70 different dealers all of whom work very hard to bring our customers a wide range of pieces both in
price and variety. Our prices definitely beat those around the country. We are unique because of the many ways we provide that old
fashioned customer service you just can't find much anymore. Come visit our mercantile, shop, reminisce and enjoy.
Many exciting events throughout the year include summer and fall open house sales.
Grand opening of our Cafe is August 7th, 2010. Don't forget to visit our outdoor gardens!
